ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES

The attention of intending Exhibitors is drawn to the fact that entries are accepted subject to the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and to the Constitution and Rules of this Association in addition to any Special Regulations which appear within this schedule.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Held under the by-laws and regulations of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies. The Esk Show Society, being affiliated with Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Incorporated, is definitely running all sections of their 2017 show under these rules and guidelines.

  1. Entry fees, except where specially mentioned, will be charged as per list at head of each section.
  2. The judges have the right to withhold awarding a prize if the exhibit is considered unworthy. In the event of there being only one entry in any class, the Judge may, at his or her discretion, issue a 1st prize ticket. No Association money shall be paid unless the Judge specially certifies the exhibit to be of sufficient merit to warrant such and no special prize (e.g. Champion) will be awarded where exhibits do not exceed two in number. In the event of a tie for first and second places, the prize money shall be added together and divided evenly and a second prize shall not be paid; also points where applicable.
  3. Should any person make an entry for which there is no place in the schedule; it shall be entered under Class Extra, if there be one in that section and should there be no prize money for such entry and should the exhibit be of special merit, the Society may award a prize if recommended by the Judge.
  4. ENTRIES CLOSE on Saturday 20th May, 2017 – unless otherwise stated.
  5. Any exhibit not ready for judging at the time stated for judging may be disqualified.
  6. Stewards will be in attendance on the day preceding the Show to receive exhibits. Any exhibits at all may be brought in on that day, unless otherwise stated in the Schedule. Night watchman will be provided on the night proceeding the show and on show night to take care of all exhibits sent in.
  7. Exhibitors must obey any orders of the Judge with reference to their exhibits, and Stewards are empowered to enforce all such orders and commands of the Judge.
  8. All farm and garden produce must be grown by the Exhibitor – except where otherwise stated.
  9. All exhibits must be the bona-fide property of the Exhibitor at the time of the Show, and one month before the Show.
  10. No entry will be complete unless the fee accompanies the certificate of entry.
    Exhibits will only be admitted on the Society's grounds upon the production of the Secretary's receipt.
  11. The same exhibit or exhibits may compete in any special prizes as well as any schedule prize.
  12. Exhibitors, when called upon by the Stewards or Committee, shall prove the correctness of their certificate of entry.
  13. The Society reserves the right of refusing admittance to any exhibit into the grounds where there is any reason to suspect it is either diseased or dangerous or to remove such exhibits from the show.
  14. Exhibitors will be required to make their own arrangements for feeding stock.
  15. Attendants passes will not be issued except under special circumstances. Passes must be produced when requested by any official of the Society.
  16. The Society will not be held responsible for any accident that may occur to any exhibit at the show; and it shall be a condition of entry that an exhibitor shall hold the Society blameless against legal proceedings arising from such accidents.
  17. That all exhibitors have their own liability insurance and that it be endorsed for show purposes.
  18. The Society will not, under any circumstances, hold itself responsible for any loss, damage or miss delivery of livestock or other exhibits to or from the Society's Show.
  19. Prize money unclaimed within one month of the show will be forfeited.
     

     

  20. Prize money will be paid out after 3pm either by the Chief Steward of each section or at the Secretary's office on Saturday 27th May, 2017 or a claim in writing must be submitted within fourteen days.
  21. Protests must be lodged with the Secretary, in writing, with a fee of $100 no later than 5.00pm on the day of the Show. If the protest is considered frivolous the deposit will be forfeited to the Society.
  22. Exhibits and persons admitted to the grounds shall be subject to the Rules, Regulations and orders of the Stewards.
  23. The Secretary or the Assistant Secretary of the Association shall have the power to enter the area described and remove any article, sign, picture or printed matter which in their opinion may cause offence to the public or to the officials of the Association.
  24. Any Exhibitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Show grounds will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with earth leakage circuit breakers and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected and tagged by a licensed electrical contractor and carry a CURRENT tag.
  25. A Judge shall not have any information prior to or during judging at an agricultural show other than what is provided by the show society only.
  26. To be eligible to lead or ride an animal in Grand Parade at our Show, all children 13 years and under are to be accompanied by an adult over 18 years.

A CHAMPION DOG SHOW will be conducted in affiliation with the Dogs Queensland on Saturday 27th May, 2017.

A YOUNG JUDGES COMPETITION will be conducted on Friday 26th May, 2017 under the rules of the 'Queensland Country Life Newspaper' in the Stud Beef and Prime Beef Cattle Sections, for the Esk Show.
